389 million pounds every year on replacing misplaced passports.

the replacement of the passport. This totals to around 1.7 million days being wasted
by the total tourists that face this mislaying of passport every year.

of physical assault and snatching of the passport which has happened with ten
percent of the people.

"It can be a real trouble if a tourist loses his passport in a foreign land. Some
trouble can surely be avoided if the tourist has the back pages copied with him in
case of a loss. The delays on the trip due to the document arrival will be reduced
if you have the copy with you. This will save expenses as well as your important
arrival at work. If however you are covered with a policy for travel by a good
insurer, then most costs will be covered by it", says Paul Birkhead, spokesman of
Halifax Travel Insurance.

It will always help the travelers if they take simple precautions before they embark
on their journey. Small efforts like keeping photocopies of the back page,
photographic identification etc can really help a lot in case of any incident. Also,
the travelers should make it a point to bring the loss of your passport or documents
to the notice of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the local police.

If any kind of additional expenses are incurred on the trips taken up, it may help
